WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO

Entergy New Orleans, LLC is a subsidiary of Entergy Corporation, and provides electricity to more than 200,000 customers and natural gas to more than 108,000 customers.

Formed in the early 1900s as New Orleans Public Service Inc., the company provided gas and electric services and maintained streetcar and bus lines with one simple goal: to provide continuous and efficient service. Although the company relinquished operation of the streetcar and bus lines, Entergy New Orleans maintains the goal of powering life in local communities.

Today, about 50% of the energy Entergy New Orleans customers use is clean and comes from sources that don’t emit carbon dioxide, such as hydropower, solar and nuclear energy. The company continues to evolve and move toward a clean energy future by re-thinking the traditional utility business model and reinventing partnerships with customers to ensure long-term success. Entergy New Orleans is answering the call for clean, affordable, reliable energy. The emergence and adoption of new technologies, such as Advanced Meters, have given Entergy New Orleans new opportunities to provide value to all customers.

HOW WE ARE IMPACTING COMMUNITIES

Entergy New Orleans is a proud community partner committed to creating and sustaining healthy, vibrant communities, while focusing its strategic investments in education/workforce development, low income/poverty solutions and environmental programs. The company delivers sustainable value by employing a diverse workforce of men and women, and contributing millions each year to local non-profit partners to help improve lives and provide opportunities for our customers and the communities we serve. Entergy’s social responsibility initiatives delivered more than $100 million in benefits to communities in 2019. In Louisiana alone, Entergy shareholders and the Entergy Charitable Foundation powered communities with $10 million in grants during 2019.
