A 4-PART TELE-TOWN HALL SERIES

In response to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, and as part of their greater, ongoing missions, the Urban League of Louisiana and the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus partnered to host this four night tele-town hall series which discussed the social determinants that impact African-American health.

NIGHT 1: EXPERIENCING COVID-19: PHYSICAL AND MENTAL IMPACT

MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2020

From personal experiences of recovery from COVID-19 to the loss of both parents to the virus, guests will share their stories and the mental health considerations that must be elevated in addressing the impacts of COVID-19.

NIGHT 3: THE INFLUENCE OF INCOME ON HEALTH

This discussion will address the intersection of salaries, wages and COVID-19 and consider the multitude of ways in which salaries and wages impact health disparities. Speakers will share data on how African American communities are being impacted disproportionately by both health and financial factors, policies that intersect with health and wealth, and explore what can be done to address health disparities by increasing economic self-reliance.
